ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR

Janine Drayson

I live in Dorset with my husband Toby, our two children Rowan and Elowen, and our horses, cat and chickens. 

I have been working as an artist/illustrator for nearly 20 years and my paintings are mostly inspired by nature and the surrounding coastline and countryside. I love to paint animals and enjoy trying to capture their characters in a fun and quirky style.

I too started riding ponies when I was 5, helping out at various yards in exchange for rides. I finally bought my first horse, (a lovely natured Haflinger called Zoe) when I was 23 and over the years have had loads of fun together!

My husband also loves horses and his business invloves pulling timber out of woodlands with a team of heavy horses. The photo is of me, Zoe (Haflinger), Fleur (Comtois) and Celine (Comtois).
